Joseph Cunningham Obituary

Joseph Wiley Cunningham, 78, passed away Friday, January 10, 2025 at Columbus Hospice House surrounded by his loving family.
The family will have a visitation from 2:00-4:00PM, Saturday, January 18, 2025 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Joseph was born April 21, 1946 in Holdenville, OK to the late Willie Cunningham and Hazel Capps Donaldson. On May 28, 1963 he enlisted into the Unites States Army, having served in Viet Nam and received multiple awards and recognition for his service. Decorations, Medals, Badges and Commendations include Marksman Rifle M-1, Sharpshooter Rifle M-14, Vietnam Service Medal and Purple Heart.
Following his career in the military as a heavy equipment mechanic he embarked on providing his mechanical skills throughout the country as one of the leading heavy equipment mechanics in the nation. During which time he provided excellent services to many clients who became lifelong friends.
Survivors include his wife: Cynthia "Cindy" Cunningham of Box Springs, GA. daughter, Angela Lynn Cunningham of Opelika, AL, sons, Louis T Cunningham of Tallassee, AL and Kline L "Gator" Cunningham of Box Springs, GA, grandchildren, Jacob T Cunningham, Joseph Levi Cunningham, Tessie Jane Cunningham and Kelby Luke Cunningham, great-grandchild, Ansleigh Kate.
