Joseph I Leveque DVM ("Dr. Joe") left for his eternal home on February 24, 2025, at the age of 92 years young. Dr. Joe is survived by his brother Charles, his six children (Joseph, Timothy, Jocelyn, Eric, Christopher, and Jennifer), his seven grandchildren (Neilan, Tessa, Tyler, Daniell, Allyson, Ryan, and Kate) and his one great grandson (Greyson).

Dr. Joe was born in Villa Grove, IL. on September 30, 1932. He attended Oxford High School in Oxford WI from 1946-50. Dr. Joe then attended the University of Illinois where he earned a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Zoology in 1954 and then a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1958. From 1950-54 Dr. Joe served stateside as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army Reserve, Fifth Armored Division. Upon graduation from veterinary school he relocated to Las Vegas, NV, where he operated the St. Francis Animal Hospital for over 30 years.

Also while residing in Las Vegas, Dr. Joe was actively involved in the YMCA (President 1967), the Rotary Club, and the Knights of Columbus, coached Pop Warner football and Little League Baseball, and served as an advisor to Nevada Governor's Paul Laxalt, Mike O'Callaghan, Robert List, and Richard Bryan on issues of animal health, wildlife, and public safety.

In 1995, Dr. Joe retired to Parker AZ where he lived on the Colorado River for the rest of his life. While living in Parker, Dr. Joe was actively involved with the animal shelter and provided a variety of veterinary services to area residents. Dr. Joe will be remembered for his outgoing and down-to-earth personality, his love and compassion for animals and their owners, and his professionalism as both a practitioner and as an instructor at the Western Arizona College where he taught biology.
