Joseph "Jody" Sellers, Jr. Obituary

Joseph Register “Jody” Sellers Jr. died in Hammond, Louisiana on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 after a long illness. He was 81 years old.

Jody was born on July 18, 1943 in New Orleans to Joseph Register Sellers and Hyacinth Joyce Sellers who predecease him. He was also preceded in death his wife JoAnn Marinello Montz Sellers and his step-son Mark Montz.

Jody’s two children Cullen Copeland Sellers (Michelle Milton) and Katherine “Katie” Sellers Rogelstad (Dustin Rogelstad) survive him along with his grandchildren Cullen C. Sellers II, Caroline Grace Sellers, Beaux Clayton Sellers, Sidney Claire Sellers, Lawson Durham Nettles, and Karli Katherine Rogelstad and step-grandchildren Caitlyn St. Arnaud and Zach Robillard and four step-greatgrandchildren. He is also survived by his step-sons Clint Montz, Rodney Montz, and Wallace Montz and his six step-grandchildren. He is also survived by his first wife and the mother of his children Katherine Wasson Blair.

Jody grew up in Ponchatoula and he graduated from Ponchatoula High School and Southeastern Louisiana University. He spent a long career with Roche Pharmaceuticals. Jody was an accomplished woodworker and shared his talent with friends and family. 

He will be buried alongside JoAnn in a private service at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church Cemetery in Hammond. Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Homes and Crematory handled the arrangements.
