Four Oaks, NC: Mr. Joseph “Lee” Massengill, II, age 57, of Four Oaks, NC passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Graveside Memorial Service will be held-11:00 AM Monday, July 7, 2025 at Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens in Smithfield. Officiating will be Revs. Adam Charville and Bill Altman.
Mr. Massengill was born on September 21, 1967 in Johnston County to Joseph Lee and Betty L. Baker Massengill. He was preceded in death by his father and his niece, Merritt Leigh Ennis. Mr. Massengill was a carpenter by trade and a craftsman who loved to build things with his hands. He loved to fish, hunt, and spend time outdoors and was a member of Corinth Methodist Church. More than anything he loved his daughters and his family.
Surviving includes his mother, Betty L. Massengill; daughters, Brittney Massengill and Jeanda Massengill Grieco and husband, Zach; granddaughter, Emma Grieco; sister, Paula Snead and husband, Jeff; and great nephew, Payton Ennis.
The family will receive friends immediately after the graveside service at Four Oaks United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall and other times at the home of Jeff and Paula Snead.
To honor Lee’s love of animals, the family requests that memorials may be made to your local Animal Rescue Group or Animal Shelter in lieu of flowers.
