He was born in Fairbanks, Alaska on January 29, 1958. His parents were Milton Norton and Joan (Deering) Norton. Because both of his parents served in the Air Force, he grew up across the United States. He graduated high school in Minot, North Dakota in 1976.

He was an outstanding grandpa to Austyn Norton and Makenna Norton.
He retired from Colorado Springs Utilities as a superintendent with the water department in 2010. He was a good, honest man who touched the hearts of many. He will forever be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Susie Norton and his faithful dog, Ozzy. His sons Jeffery (Tiffany) Norton of Redding, California and Dylan (Tiffany) Norton of Fountain, Colorado. His grandchildren, Austyn Norton, and Makenna Norton of Fountain, Colorado. His sister Linda (Edward) Coleman of Parker, Colorado. His sister Robyn (Milton) Teague of Natalia, Texas.
