Joshua Kiser Obituary

Joshua Lincoln Kiser Jr. was born on December 9, 1936, in St. Paul, VA. He died on July 15, 2025, in Destin, FL. He was the third child born to J. Lincoln and Mildred Kiser.
Joshua loved Christ at a very early age and was a member of numerous Baptist Churches through his 88 years. After graduating High School in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, he attended East Tennessee State University, where he played football and received a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After college, he joined the United States Army, where he fought for our country and received numerous medals and reached the rank of Colonel. He retired after 29 years of service. He loved flying and flew Bell Helicopters for many years. Josh had many passions but the one that stood out the most was his love for cars. He loved NASCAR and Drag racing where he won many trophies with numerous different Corvettes he owned. It seems like he liked anything with a motor.
Josh will be tremendously missed by the love of his life Joyce Gnann Kiser. They were happily married for 47 years; they lived an exciting life traveling the world and living in many different places. He also will be missed by his two cats, Boogie and Katie, best friend J. R. and many nieces, nephews, and his sister Iris and many friends.
Josh is preceded in death by his father, mother and brother Jim.
To know Josh was to love him. He was known for his infectious smile and unwavering kindness; his warmth was astonishing. Josh will be missed by so many.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM at The Church at Shalimar, 1 Old Ferry Rd., Shalimar, Fl. 32579. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the visitation. A reception will be held at the church following the service. Graveside services will be held at Temple Hill Memorial Park, 2529 Memorial Drive, Castlewood, VA 24224, on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
