Judith Ashleman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Reuland & Turnbough Funeral Directors - Lake Forest on Oct. 2, 2024.
Judith E. Ashleman, a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on September 30, 2024, in Lake Forest, Illinois, at the age of 85. Born on June 13, 1939, in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan to parents John and Adelaide Kastner Mueller. Judith's warmth and thoughtfulness touched the lives of all who knew her.
Judith graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan, where she honed her sharp mind and nurturing spirit. Judith's dedication to her family and home was unparalleled. She also stepped into the role of running the family business during a time of need by displaying remarkable resilience and business acumen.
A woman of many interests, Judith found solace and joy in the world of art, reading, knitting, or solving puzzles.
With a marriage that flourished for 51 years, Judith and her beloved husband, Richard W. Ashleman, built a life founded on mutual respect and adoration. Together, they navigated the joys and challenges of life until Richard's passing in 2015.
Judith's legacy continues through her devoted sons, Eric D. (Himani) Ashleman, and the late Mark W. Ashleman (d. 2023); grandchildren, Miles, Alexandra, Karena Ashleman, and Michael T. O'Brien; brothers and sisters, Janet Mueller, John Mueller, and Susan Lawson.
Judith's life was a testament to a life well-lived, marked by kindness, thoughtfulness, and passion. Her spirit, love, and wisdom will continue to guide her family and friends. As we bid farewell, we celebrate the extraordinary woman she was and the indelible imprint she has left on all our hearts.
The Memorial Service and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Judith's name may be made online to Chicago Botanic Garden at https://www.chicagobotanic.org/donate.
