Judith Henthorn, 85 year old Mooreland resident, passed away Friday, May 16, 2025 in Mooreland. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2025 at the First United Methodist Church of Mooreland. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Judith Ann (Wilcox) Henthorn was born on July 16, 1939 in Fort Supply, Oklahoma to Thomas Neal and Thelma Agnes (Land) Wilcox. Judith grew up in Mooreland and later Oklahoma City. She graduated from Putnam City High School in 1957. She was united in marriage to Thurman Fussell on July 31, 1965. They were blessed with four children: Margaret, Sally, Troy, and Roxie. Judith worked for Prudential Financial in Oklahoma City, the Warr Acres Modeling Agency, Terry Oblander Tax, Deacon's Shop-Northwest Service and Equipment where she was bookkeeper and primary purchasing agent.
She was united in marriage to Jerry Henthorn on July 3, 2004 in Mooreland, Oklahoma. They made their home in Mooreland and have lived there since that time. Judith enjoyed sewing and sewed pageant dresses for lots of little girls over the years. She was a Foster Parent over 10 years and she always sent home made cards of encouragement to people in her community. All of her cards were made with photographs that she, herself took. She loved photography and owned her own business "Through My Lens" by Judith. She received numerous photography awards including; fair entries, museum entries and national awards from AARP in which her photographs were featured for their yearly calendar. She was the Founding Director of the Miss Northwest Passage in Woodward and encouraged young ladies to shoot for the stars. Judith received Mooreland's Chamber of Commerce Award, the 101 Classic Bowl "Legend" Award, and the "Friends of the Museum" award. She also enjoyed traveling in the R-V, and being with friends and family.
Judith was a member of the Mooreland United Methodist Church and was very involved with the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the 101 Classic Bowl for many years, Senior Citizen Center of Mooreland, and the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her husband Jerry Henthorn of the home; her children: Margaret Brittain, Sally Miller and husband Darrell, Troy Fussell and wife Hyonhui, Roxie Emunson and husband Daniel; grandchildren: Timothy Brittain and wife Anne Danielczyk, Lyle Brittain, DeLanda Brittain-Asher and husband Derrick, Devin Miller, Daren Miller and wife Chonda, Ethan Fussell, Ellie Fussell, Codie Emunson and fiancee LeighAnna Rasco, Carson McElroy and husband Camdyn, Austin Emunson; great-grandchildren: Samantha Brittain, Penelope Asher, Abbagail Asher, Jaxon Miller, Jase Miller, Chloe Miller, Cashton Dees; one sister Nancy Wallace; nephews Scott Wallace and family, Brent Wallace and family.
Her extended family also brought her great joy. Jerry's children: Teri Murphy and husband Kevin, Rick Henthorn and wife Susie, Russ Henthorn, Cindy Kralik and husband William; Jerry's grandchildren: Brian Murphy and wife Caila, Melissa Forshner and husband Dan, Amanda Smith, Camron Smith, Kirstin Currie and husband Richie, Ian Henthorn, Isaac Henthorn and wife Sydney, Kandie Thompson and husband Jerod, Kameron Kralik and wife Courtney; great-grandchildren: Hudson Murphy, Abigail Murphy, Stryder Murphy, Lincoln Murphy, Faye Forshner, Henry Forshner, Teagan Currie, Tenly Currie, Kandon Kralik; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Sam Brittain, brother-in-law Lee Wallace and former in-laws, Clarence and Violet Fussell.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mooreland United Methodist Church with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
