Judith Roetker Obituary

Judith Ann DuVal Roetker, 82, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, passed away on October 12, 2025. She was born October 5, 1942, in Ashland, Kansas, to Ruth Loraine German DuVal and James Franklin DuVal.

Judy grew up in Guthrie and attended St. Mary's Catholic School, later graduating from Guthrie High School in the Class of 1961. She went on to study marketing and interior design at the University of Central Oklahoma, laying the foundation for a life full of creativity.

In 1965, she married the love of her life, Edgar Lee Roetker of Buffalo, Oklahoma. Together, they raised their children-Stacie, Tori and Rodney- and built a beautiful life on their farm in Harper County, where they grew wheat and ran cattle for over 50 years.

Judy, a true beauty, with a love for fashion and a flair for purses & shoes, was also deeply involved in farm life, often working side by side with Ed. She spent much of her life driving tractors and sharing in his passion for the land. But Judy's talents extended far beyond the fields-she was a gifted artist who painted stunning portraits of the American countryside, capturing the landscapes she loved so dearly.

She was also known for her remarkable dancing. A natural talent, Judy could dance to any style of music and make it look effortless. She spent many years teaching dance, offering free classes to people of all ages. Her joy for music and movement was infectious and became one of the hallmarks of her personality.

Above all, Judy was an extraordinary mother. Her warmth, sense of humor, and love of having fun made growing up with her a true gift. She wasn't just a devoted mom - she was a beloved best friend to her daughters and granddaughters. Together, they shared a bond so special that it inspired the affectionate nickname: "Judy & The Girls" (insert: leg kick) which brought mom many laughs.

Later in life, Judy returned to Guthrie, where she spent her days surrounded by family, friends, and fond memories. She remained close to many lifelong friends-some dating all the way back to grade school-and treasured the monthly class dinners they continued to share.

Judy was the life of the party and her larger than life personality was the light in any room. Her sense of humor went unmatched. Her laughter, feistiness, and spirited nature will be missed by all who knew her. Those of us who had the privilege of knowing her were truly the lucky ones.

May her loving memory live on in all of us, and may she now be dancing in heaven with her beloved Ed-until we see her again.
