Judy Lynn Beecher, 85, of
Kingfisher, Oklahoma, went to her eternal home on August 10th, 2025. Judy was born to Kenneth and Mildred Dodson Barrett on June 26th, 1940 in Hinton, Oklahoma. Judy grew up in the small rural community of Hinton, alongside her sister, Patsy, and brother, Gary. From a young age, she worked with her family on the farm, where they raised wheat, cotton, and cattle. She shared memories of pickin' cotton. She loved talking about her high school job working at Hobbs Drug Store. She graduated from East Walnut High School in May 1958 before attending Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK. where she studied for a couple of years. She often shared that her dream was to become a schoolteacher, inspired by her beloved Aunt Sybil. While attending college, she lived with a local family where she did their laundry and ironing in exchange for room and board. On June 30th, 1960, she married the love of her life, the late William (Bill) Beecher. God blessed their marriage with two children, Brian and Tamara. Judy and Bill shared 37 wonderful years together until Bill's passing in 1997. Raised in the First United Methodist Church in Hinton, Judy joined the Emmanuel Lutheran Church upon her marriage, where she remained a lifelong member. Together, Judy and Bill built a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. They established their first home east of Okarche before later settling in Kingfisher, where Judy resided until moving to St Katharine's in El Reno two years ago. Judy had various jobs throughout her life but the role she cherished the most was being a homemaker and operating her own home daycare which she continued for years. Another favorite title she loved was "Grandma Judy". Her sleepovers created countless cherished memories for her grandchildren. There was never a shortage of junk food, lots of laughter and playing games into the wee hours of the night because there was NEVER a bedtime. The grandkids didn't wear her out; she wore them out! They had to come home to get some rest. Judy also remained active on the farm she and Bill built together, especially during harvest season, when she lovingly prepared and delivered meals to the field. Judy's daycare children became an extended part of the Beecher family, and she was truly a light in their world. She lovingly prepared three-course lunches, polished their shoes, always made sure their clothes were clean when they went home. She made it a point to celebrate every child's birthday, making sure each one felt special and loved. Her home was a safe and welcoming place, and she supported them in every way- helping with homework while always making time for fun. From bike rides and basketball games to lemonade stands and walks to the park, Judy created countless joyful memories that her daycare children and their families will cherish forever. Judy had a love for adventure- whether it was the Florida beaches or a couple trips to Branson each year, she was always ready to go. She even went to the mountains with us recently- while we hit the slopes, she hung out in the ski lodge, making friends and quickly became the lodge's unofficial greeter. Judy was known for her kind and caring heart, infectious smile, and her ability to make everyone around her feel welcome. She leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and devotion to her family and friends. Judy is survived by her children Brian Beecher and Tamara Beecher Massey and her husband Mitch Massey. She also leaves behind her grandsons Bennett Beecher and Braedan Beecher and granddaughters Alyson Massey Ryan husband Conner Ryan, Abygail Massey, Anna Massey and Lauren Caudle and great grandson Benjamin Beecher. She is also survived by her sister Patsy Thiessen and her husband Bob Thiessen, and among several other nephews, nieces, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Gary, and her husband Bill. A funeral service to honor the life of Judy will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the Kingfisher Emmanuel Lutheran Church with burial to follow in the Kingfisher Cemetery. Family asks that you please wear purple in honor of mom. Viewing will be held at Wilson Funeral Home (1612 S. Main, Kingfisher) on Friday, August 22 from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
