Judy Dove, 76 of Mt. Jackson passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Shenandoah Terrace in New Market.
Judy was born on November 20, 1948, in New Market and was the daughter of the late Merle Lambert Thorpe, Sr. and Dolly Catherine Rupert Thorpe. She graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School class of 1967. Judy worked in banking for many years, retiring from BB&T. Judy enjoyed going to the beach, camping, and spending time with her only grandchild, Brayden. She also enjoyed time with friends making greeting cards to share with others and going to eat ice cream at Pack's and taking rides with Orville Smoot to look for deer. She loved spending time with family, especially the time she got to spend with Brayden and attending his soccer matches.
Judy is survived by her significant other, Orville Smoot, a son Christopher Dove, and wife Michelle of New Market, a grandson, Brayden Dove of Charleston, SC., brother, Tony Thorpe and wife, Karen of Woodstock, sister, Dale Hepner and husband, Tommy of Mt. Jackson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Merle Lambert Thorpe, Jr.
Special thanks to Shenandoah Terrace Memory Care Unit for their exceptional and loving care provided to her.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Dellinger Funeral Homes, Mt. Jackson, from 9:30-10:30 and a graveside service will be held at 11:00 in Mt. Jackson Cemetery for those who wish to attend. Pastor Katie Gosswein will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church 4109 Jerome Road, Edinburg, VA. 22824 or Mt. Jackson United Methodist Church 141 Orkney Drive Mt. Jackson, VA. 22842.
