Judy Duplechine Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brown-Holley Funeral Home LLC - Rayville on Feb. 20, 2026.
Judy Hixon Duplechine, originally from Rayville, Louisiana, and a longtime president of Scott, Louisiana, went to be with her Savior Jesus on January 30, 2026, at the age of 74. We're sure He met her with the biggest and best cup of coffee she's ever had! If you knew her then you knew how much she loved her family, her puppy Miko, her coffee and most importantly Jesus.

Eleven years ago, she was given three months to live being diagnosed with three different types of cancer, two of which were rare and aggressive. She didn't accept that and instead continued to live her life he worked as an occupational therapist's assistant. She traveled with James and Miko, All while she went through treatments, continuing to defy all the odds and the doctor's predictions. Judy showed everyone who knew her what it meant to truly live. To embrace every moment. To be bold and brave in the face of death. And to truly rely on and trust in God!

She loved to pick and cut up. She never met a stranger and either began a conversation or ended it with calling you "Sugar". Thank you for being here with us to celebrate someone who meant so much to so many!

She is survived by her husband and love of her life, James Duplechine, daughter Brandon Relle and her wife Celeste, daughter Leslie Franks and her husband Randy, and daughter Jamie Duplechine. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Haley Lowry (Nick), Tylern Franks (Haylee), Lilian Reele, and Sopia Relle; and eight great-grandchildren, and her lifelong best friend, Debra Morris.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Start Baptist Church, Start, LA.
