Judy McDonald Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Judith Ann McDonald. She was a devoted wife, mother/grandmother, an accomplished businesswoman, and a passionate world traveler, who departed this life peacefully on July 4th, 2025, at the age of 89.
Born on May 5th, 1936, in Lansing Michigan, Judy lived a remarkable life marked by adventure, passion, and unwavering love for her family and friends. She was the beloved wife of Mr. Ronald Dana "Dee" McDonald, Jr., with whom she shared 68 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life grounded in laughter, resilience, and shared a sense of adventure that allowed them to live a multitude of lives within one lifetime.
As a mother, Judy was endlessly supportive, wise, and nurturing. Her children: Tammy, Tanya, Dana, and Jon, were the center of her universe, and she delighted in their joys, stood by them in their challenges, and celebrated every milestone with quiet pride.
A lifelong lover of games, Judy found particular joy in the strategic and social world of bridge. Judy earned the rank of gold life master; a title that spoke not only to her skill, but to her tenacity, focus, and love of the game. She competed in tournaments across the country, building a reputation for both precision and poise. For her, bridge was more than a game; it was a lifelong passion and a testament to the power of logic, memory, and partnership. Her love for the game afforded her and her husband, Dee, the opportunity to travel across continents and cultures. They saw the world, not just as a place to explore, but as a collection of stories, people, and experiences to be cherished. She never met a stranger, and her sense of wonder was infectious to everyone who had the privilege to journey with her. Those who knew Judy will remember her elegant grace, swift mind, and soft smile that would light up a room. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and boundless curiosity.
She is survived by her husband, Dee McDonald; her children, Tammy, Tanya, Dana, and Jon; her grandchildren, Brian, Jason, Brittany, DJ, Riley, and Kenna; and her great-grandchildren, Poppy, Crew, Rosie, Violet, Sylvie, and Kenley.
The family will host a celebration of life for Judy at a later date to be announced. Family and Friends will be contacted with details once finalized. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the Arbor Day Foundation.
