Orwell-Judy A. Rose, age 79 passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025 at UH Geauga Medical Center. She was the daughter of John H. Saxion and Anna Lorraine (Bowser) Saxion born July 20, 1945 at home in Armstrong County in western Pennsylvania 20 minutes after her twin brother Jerry. As a child the family moved to Mecca, OH and then to West Farmington, OH. Judy was a member of the Rainbow Girls and 4-H clubs focused on horses and clothing. She graduated from West Farmington High School in 1963. After high school, Judy began working at GI in Middlefield, OH and met her soon to be husband John through his sister Mary, who was a co-worker at GI. Judy married John N. Rose on January 15, 1972. She and her husband began farming in Rootstown, then Alliance, and finally Greene before moving to Orwell. Judy was a long-time resident of Orwell, having relocated the family to the village in 1979 to help her husband start his own flower shop. She served as an advisor for a local 4-H club focused on crafts and worked at Alphabet Kaydee for 29 years while helping her husband with his floral business until they both retired. Judy was an avid reader and loved word search puzzles. Judy is survived by her two sons, Eric N. Rose of Orwell, and Forrest H. Rose of Oberlin, her twin brother Jerry (Barb) Saxion and sister Sandra Taipale. She was preceded in death by her husband John N. Rose, parents John H. and Anna Loraine Saxion, son John Robert Rose, and brother Ronald H. Saxion.

A funeral service officiated by Rev. James Stanley will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, 12:00 pm at Paine Funeral Home, Inc., 140 E. Main Street, Orwell, OH 44076. Burial will follow at the Orwell Twp., North Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 22. 2025 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Condolences may be made at painefuneralhome.com
