Julia Louise (Burkhardt) Furnish, age 42, of Reeds Spring, Missouri, passed away July 1, 2025. She entered this life on July 16, 1982, the daughter of Tommy and Carol (Hoover) Burkhardt in New Braunfels, Texas. Julia was joined in marriage to James Michael Furnish on August 28, 2010.
Throughout her life, Julia was a strong and resilient woman with a beautiful soul. Having a deep love for others, she wanted those around her to be happy. Julia's caring and generous nature, along with her love for children, led her to volunteer in the church nursery. She was a wonderful cook and a generous host as she opened her home every Thanksgiving and Christmas to her family so they could share in the joy she had preparing meals for them. Julia enjoyed crafting and collecting anything related to dolphins. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished the memories she created throughout her life with her family. She was affectionately called "Loli" by her granddaughter.
Julia is survived by her husband, James Furnish of Reeds Spring, Missouri; daughter, Haden Bennett of Nixa, Missouri; granddaughter, Ashton Bennett of Nixa, Missouri; mother, Carol (Rick) Burton of Nixa, Missouri; siblings: Shawn (Rob) Saylor of Springfield, Missouri, Chris (Jasmine) Burkhardt of Forsyth, Missouri, and Melissa (Mark) Blevins of Nixa, Missouri; parents-in-law: Michael (Debbie) Furnish of Cassville, Missouri; siblings-in-law: Carrie (Kevin) Whetzel of Moore, South Carolina, Irick (Angela) Furnish of Rogers, Arkansas, Jo Furnish of Concord, North Carolina and extended family including nieces and nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tommy Burkhardt; maternal grandparents: George and Julia Hoover; and paternal grandparents: Edwin and Rosalie Burkhardt.
A memorial service in Julia's memory will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, Woodland Hills Family Church, Branson, Missouri, with Rex Childress officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Julia may be made to a PTSD Veteran's group Projecthealingwaters.org or wheelinforthewounded.org.
