Julia Hoffmeister, 87, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, July 25, 2025, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on May 31, 1938, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of George and Ruby Masters Koerber. She and Bill Hoffmeister were married on December 1, 1957, at Hanover Lutheran Church. They were married 67 years when he passed away on January 24, 2022.

Julia was a graduate of University High School in Cape Girardeau. After a 36-year career with Southwestern Bell, she retired in 1994. Julia was a faithful member to Trinity Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid group.

Loving survivors include her four children, Jeff (Kelly) Hoffmeister of Waterloo, Illinois, Gwen (Paul) Seyer of Jackson, Brian (Bob Stelle) Hoffmeister of Palm Springs, California, and Kim (John) Winslow of Overland Park, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Paige Mays, Taylor Liefer, Adam Hoffmeister, Jordan Buckthorpe, Marcus, Megan, and Clayton Winslow; great-grandchildren, Van Mays and Crosby Liefer who will make his appearance in October.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a sister, Viola Weiss.

The visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Monday, July 28, 2025, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The Rev. Paul Short will conduct the funeral service at 11 a.m., on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family asks that contributions be made to Saxony Lutheran School or Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid Auxiliary group.
