Julia Wethington Obituary

Julia Ann Etheridge Wethington, born on June 12, 1937, in Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025, at the age of 88. Julie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to her family and loved them without conditions. She and her husband, Francis Dale Wethington, Sr., worked together as business owners of Dale's Drapery and Installation. They worked hard and played hard, enjoying gardening, tennis, golf, bowling, boating, fishing, and spending time with friends. Julie's heart was full of unwavering love for the Lord. To her very last weeks, she was most happy being in church and singing hymns. She was resilient, grateful, and always aware of life's bigger picture. She's Home! She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis Dale Wethington, Sr.; her brother, Jack Etheridge; and her sister, Betty Cheek. Julia leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her children, Francis "Butch" Wethington, Jr. (Andrea), Maggie Smith (Brent), and Tammy Thompson (Todd); her brother, Ricky Etheridge; her grandchildren, Trea Wethington, Caleb Wethington (Brooke), Macayla Wethington, Meagan Mason, Julie Anne Smith, Alex Smith, Manley Thompson (Sara), Tyler Thompson (Rachel), Holly Garland (Bailey), and Grant Thompson (Kelsey); and her great-grandchildren, Watson, Willow, Max, Hunter, Tucker, Brooks, Charlotte, Addison, Cole, Caroline, Walker, Evelyn, and Hallie. A funeral service to honor Julia's life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church in Sharpsburg, Georgia, with Pastor Brian Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Julia's warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family and church will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
