NORWOOD – Funeral services for June Ellen Wilkins, 75, a resident of the United Helpers Nursing Home, Canton, will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025 at 12 noon at the Knapps Station Community Church with Rev. Lee Sweeney presiding. Burial will be held in the Hale Cemetery following the services. Family and friends may call at the Knapps Station Community Church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. June passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
June is survived by six siblings, Gerald and Cheryl Cutris, Wyoming; Edgar and Sherry Curtis, Chateaugay; Christine and George Farley, Whitesboro; Patricia and Steven Keleher, West Stockholm; Carol and Mike Allen, Norwood and Kathryn and David Eibert, FL as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members whom June cherished. She was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband David and a sister, Linda Evans.
Born in Potsdam, NY on June 1, 1950 to the late Gerald and Grace Bresee Curtis, June graduated from Potsdam Central School as well as completing a course in cosmetology. She married David G. Wilkins on October, 9, 1971. David later passed away in January of 2002. June worked for many years at SUNY Potsdam with PACES and previously worked at the Potsdam Dairy Queen. She was a communicant of the Knapps Station Church and enjoyed gardening, bird watching and spending time with her family playing games. Memorial donations in June's memory can be made to the Knapps Station Community Church and memories and condolences may be shared online at www.buckfuneralhome.com. The Buck Funeral Home in Norwood is serving the family of June Ellen Wilkins.
