Justice "Monty" Coffman
April 12, 1948 – July 14, 2025
Justice "Monty" Coffman, 77, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, with his loving family by his side. He was a quiet, thoughtful man, handworker, loyal, honest and loved family tradition.
Monty was born on April 12, 1948, in Mishawaka, IN, to the late James and Allie Rae (Chandler) Coffman. He was also preceded in death by his grandson Kyle, his brother Prentice Coffman, his son-in-law Don Young, and his brother-in-law Markus Greco.
A proud graduate of Penn High School, Class of 1966, Monty worked as a Sub Station mechanic for Indiana Michigan Electric Company for 40 years before his retirement. He met the love of his life, Jacki (Johnson), at Culver's on Eagle Lake, Michigan, and they were married on May 6, 1973, in Elkhart.
Monty was a proud member of VFW Post 360, the Eagles Aerie, and the DeAmicis Club. He had a deep love for nature and enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, birdwatching and loved shooting pool and beating the young guys. He loved country music and was a loyal fan of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and more recently found joy in solving Sudoku puzzles.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Jacki Coffman, his beloved blended family: Rina Young of South Bend, Rhonda (Rob) Croft of LaPorte, Colorado, and Richard (Heather) Bock; six grandchildren: DJ (Danielle) Young, Rachel, Colton, Danielle, and Jessie; and three great-grandchildren: Cayden, Emma, and Greyson. Also surviving are his brothers Bruce (Sandy) Coffman and Mike (Janice) Coffman; sisters Brenda Coffman and Pam Greco; sister-in-law Lois Coffman; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends.
In keeping with Monty's wishes, services will be private.
