Karen Sue Donica, age 67. passed away unexpectedly at IU Ball Hosp in Muncie, leaving this world and into the arms of Jesus on March 24, 2025.
Karen was born on December 31, 1957 the 14th child of Wenford and Violet Donica. For the past 29 years, Karen has made her home in Muncie with Hillcroft Services. She especially enjoyed her time going to the Special Olympics playing bocce ball. She also enjoyed bowling, cheerleading and going out to eat with her roommates, friends and family members. We will all miss her infectious smile, laugh and her sassiness.
She is survived by her sister, Charlotte (Mike) Anderson of New Castle; four brothers, Gary (Marsha) Donica of Florence, SC, Charles (Pearl) Donica of Riverton, UT, Otis (Juanita) Donica of New Castle, Lloyd (Debbie) Donica of Hampton, VA; sisters-in-law, Stella and Anita Donica both of New Castle, Sharon Donica of Muncie and Christine Donica of FL; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wenford and Violet Donica; maternal and paternal grandparents; two sisters, Madeleen Donica and Katheleen Hinton; six brothers, Gerald, Wayne, Gail, Donald, James, David Donica; sisters-in-law, Opal Donica and Patricia Donica; several nieces and nephews.
Karen’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital Critical Care nurses and doctors for their loving care and to Hillcroft Services for the 29 years of loving care given to Karen.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00pm Friday, March 28, 2025 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with her brother, Pastor Lloyd Donica officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until the time of service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be given to Hillcroft Services, 501 W.
