Karen Goetz, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on July 24, 1938 in Chicago, IL. Karen spent many years caring for children in and around Wonder Lake, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
Known affectionately as Nana, she touched the lives of so many through her kindness and nurturing spirit.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, Henry Goetz of 67 years and her children, Katherine, Peter (Teresa), Kristine and Henry (Heather), her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Each of them will carry forward her legacy of love and devotion.
Karen's warmth and generosity made her a cornerstone of her family and community. Her door was always open, and her heart even more so. Whether she was hosting family gatherings or caring for little ones, she knew how to make everyone feel special. Although she will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the countless lives she enriched with her love.
Karen was preceded in death by her daughter, Suzanne and her son Robert, her brother Peter, her sister Judy Behm, and her parents Hugo and Frances Dorstweitz.
Following her wishes, her remains will be cremated. Her celebration of life ceremony will be held on Saturday, July 19th at Woodstock Assembly of God, 1201 Dean St., Woodstock, IL 60098 at 1 pm. A small reception will be held afterwards at the church. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Karen, please visit our floral store.
