JOHNSON

With heavy hearts we mourn the loss of Karen Sue (Isaacs) Johnson, who passed away Friday, August 15, 2025, at the age of 63. Karen passed peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family following a valiantly fought battle with breast cancer.

Born August 3, 1962, in Columbus, she was a daughter of Virgil Isaacs and Janice (Clifton) Isaacs. A 1980 graduate of Madison Plains High School, Karen married the love of her life, David "Trigger" Johnson, on July 13, 1985, and together they were inseparable for the past four decades, including being able to celebrate their 40th anniversary in July. Professionally, Karen took pride in her career where she worked in accounting for The Ohio Company, as an equipment specialist for the Ohio Attorney General, and perhaps her favorite position as a task force specialist for the Ohio Organized Crime Investigation Committee. Karen cared deeply for others and was passionate about the work she did, always searching to help others and be able to offer them a brighter future.

Her favorite memories took place outdoors where she enjoyed spending time in nature whenever possible. She especially loved being somewhere sunny and warm, such as her many cherished vacations with family to the Virgin Islands. Karen had a passion for ancestry where she liked the challenge of a good puzzle in trying to piece together the many loose ends, similarly, she also enjoyed crafting where she would spend hours devoted to beadwork and the intricacies it entailed.

Karen leaves a rich legacy of love behind through her beloved husband of 40 years, David "Trigger" Johnson; daughter Kristin Winland, son Wesley Johnson; grandson Wyatt Ireland; siblings Phillip (Felica) Isaacs, Kenneth (Becky) Isaacs, Daniel (Lori) Isaacs, Lora (Tom) Palmer, Stanley (Mindy) Isaacs, Jeanette Ray, Gaylynn (Clinton) Long, and Kevin Isaacs; uncles Vernon (Sandy) Isaacs and Merle Isaacs; sister-in-law Debra (Ron) Stephenson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The Johnson family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140. A funeral service will be honored on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 AM with Reverend Gordon Ell officiating. Interment will follow in Paint Memorial Cemetery.

Memorials in Karen's name may be sent to benefit American Cancer Society online at www.cancer.org.

I was a co-worker at RED Capital and Karen was so helpful. I was just talking about her with someone last week and would think of her often. I am so saddened to hear of her passing. Condolences to the family; so sorry for your loss.

My deepest condolences to all of Karen's family. I knew Karen for many years when we worked together at Red. She was such a good person and talented. We talked about beading now and then. She will be greatly missed. God bless all your family.
