Karen Lisius, 81 passed away on July 3, 2025 in Redmond, Oregon surrounded by family.
Karen was raised on a farm in western North Dakota with her 5 siblings. She attended Junior college in Bismarck, ND after high school, studying business. In 1964, at the age of 19, she moved to Redmond Oregon and married Dennis Lisius, who she met in high school in North Dakota. They had been married just short of 61 years when she passed. Karen had several jobs and careers, but she was most proud of her work as an executive secretary for Becky Johnson of Redmond and as a classroom aid for Head Start.
Karen was a beloved mother, wife, aunt, sister, sister-in-law and friend. She was known for baking delicious cookies and fudge and sending packages of these homemade treats to the family on holidays. We will all miss the cards Karen sent for birthdays and anniversaries. Karen loved the Oregon Coast and spent as much time as she could visiting there throughout her life. Karen survived and lived with many major illnesses in her 81 years. Despite these illnesses, Karen went outside and walked everyday she could. She reminded us all to be persistent in getting outside, even if for a short walk, every day that we could.
Karen is survived by her husband Dennis Lisius, daughters Stephanie and Sherri Lisius, and her siblings Gail, Mary, Garth, Cleve and Arla Teske.
Karen will be deeply missed.
There will be no funeral services, per Karen's wishes. Those who want to send condolences to her family should write to her home address. In lieu of flowers, donations to the the North Coast Land Conservancy or the Redmond Community Presbyterian church are appreciated.
