Karen Marie Martone, (59), of Albany, NY. passed away on November 22 2024 at home in Castleton surrounded by family.
Karen was born in Rensselaer NY to Robert and Dolores Allen on November 16th 1965. She went to high school at Rensselaer City High School. Karen worked most her children's school aged years at Ben Franklin crafts, and went on to decades in laundromat services in Albany Medical Center at A1 dry cleaning onto Fairview in Hudson NY.
She was a talented self taught artistic person in stain glass soldering and mastering the skill making many beautiful suncatchers and other keepsakes.
Karen is known in and around the area for her beautiful and completely home made dreamcatchers. Karen loved animals, especially cats feeding and rescuing as many as she could any where she could. She loved and cherish her cat Theodore most of all.
Karen is survived by her husband, David Martone of Castleton on Hudson; two daughters, Tara Lee Seney and Samantha Marie Seney; and her two grandchildren, special beloved granddaughter, Aleyna Lee Seney and special grandson, Dean Springle. She is also survived by her father Robert Allen, brother "bobby'' Allen Jr.; sister, Kinda Koricanek; as well as her niece and two nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Dolores Allen and sisters, Nancy Prew and Robin Allen.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours Wednesday November 27th from11:00-1:00 in the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home 165 Columbia Tpk. Rensselaer.
