Karen F. Simmons, 87 of Brooklyn, Indiana, passed away peacefully at 8:10 PM on Monday, July 7th, 2025. She was born on Thursday, May 12th, 1938, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Raymond Renninger Fiscus and Frances Virginia (Light) Fiscus. Karen earned a master's degree in special education and was a Special Education Teacher for over 22 years. She taught in several states throughout the US, including Georgia, Texas and New Mexico. In her spare time, she enjoyed her dogs, traveling, reading, watching mysteries, and frequenting flea markets and yard sales. She is survived by her three children, Robert W. Davis Jr. of Albuquerque, NM, Rebecca L. (husband, James) Willis of Indianapolis, IN, and Ronald L. Davis of Martinsville, IN; sister, Linda F. (husband, Don) Hunt of Utah; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Simmons on May 26th, 2025; with whom she shared forty-two years of marriage and a son, Richard Alan Davis on January 4th, 1986. The family has honored Karen's wishes for cremation and there are no services planned at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
