Karen L. Trousdell (née Kvasny), age 61, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, Ohio.
Karen was born on November 2, 1963, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Karen earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations from Purdue University. She dedicated her life to serving others through her work in retail and school food services. Most recently, she was employed as a Food Service Director for Ross Schools. Prior to working for the schools, she worked for Service Merchandise and Michael’s. Her dedication, kindness, and hard work left a lasting impact on the students, staff, and community she served.
Karen was a woman of many passions. She loved reading books by Nora Roberts, playing on the computer, taking drives in her car, boating, traveling, and spending cherished time with her family and friends. She had a particular fondness for mystery television shows and delighted in listening to Christmas music all year long. Amongst all of her hobbies, she also enjoyed making and decorating cakes. She was especially honored to have made her niece's, Amber, wedding cake. In her younger years, Karen proudly played drums in a marching band.
A devoted member of Central Christian Church and the organization TOPS, Karen lived her life with warmth, generosity, and a deep commitment to those around her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, James N. Trousdell, Jr., who affectionately called her "Pooh." She is also survived by her mother, Margaret (née Tiffany) Kvasny; sister, Janet Craycraft; nephew, Brandon Huffman; niece, Amber (Ryan) Martin; uncle, Carl Dale Tiffany; sisters-in-law, Barbara Franchescini and Elizabeth Trousdell; brother-in-law, Bruce Trousdell; and many beloved cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Kvasny.
Karen will be remembered for her bright spirit, her compassion, and the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 4-7 pm at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason. Her funeral service will be on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 10:30 am, also at the funeral home. Interment will take place after her funeral service, at 2:30 pm, at Dale Cemetery, 801 N.
