Karen L. Zimmerman
Age 80, of Juda, died Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Agrace HospiceCare, Fitchburg. Karen was born on March 3, 1945 in Monroe, the daughter of Ernest and Helen (Munz) Lehr. She graduated from Juda High School in 1963 and was united in marriage to Delton "Brad" Zimmerman on October 30, 1965 in Juda. Karen worked as a transcriptionist at the Monroe Clinic Hospital for 43 years before retiring in 2007. She was an avid bowler, a fan of Elvis, enjoyed following the Brewers and Packers, and was an extreme animal lover. Karen was also known to take the occasional trip to the casino.
She is survived by a son, Mark Zimmerman; daughter, Dawn Golackson, both of Juda; granddaughter, Taylor Golackson of Fitchburg; sister, Donna Newman of Juda; sister-in-law, Norma Lehr of Orfordville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delton, on March 15, 2024; brother, Gary Lehr; and brother-in-law, Chet Newman.
A celebration of Karen's life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Nett's Sports Bar, 1301 17th St., Monroe. A memorial fund will be established in Karen's name for the Green County Humane Society. The NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe, is assisting the family.
