Funeral services for Kathleen Colley East, age 78, of Roanoke will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 12:00 noon at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Scott Whaley, Nathan Sanders, and Aidan Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Friday before services begin.

Mrs. East passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, at her residence.

Survivors include her husband, John Paul East of Roanoke; one daughter, Nikki Sanders (Eddie) of Roanoke; five grandchildren, Nathan Sanders, Shelby Bramblett, Joshua Bramblett, Aidan Sanders, and Caleb Sanders; three sisters, Deborah Archuleta, Donita Walls (Gary), Alisa Walls (Frank); one sister-in-law, Sandra Colley; and three brothers, Aulcie Colley, Tedric Colley (Jackie), and Beric Colley (Melanie).

Pallbearers will be Caleb Sanders, Aidan Sanders, Nathan Sanders, Beric Colley, Scotty Colley, and Gary Walls.

A Langdale, Alabama native, Mrs. East was born on December 26, 1946, the daughter of Alton and Maggie Lois Smith Colley. She was a member of Huguley Baptist Church and was retired from West Point Pepperell. Mrs. East loved to cook and bake and people ordered cakes from her often. She loved flowers and especially loved her grandkids and family. Mrs. East was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Paula East Bramblett; infant son, John Paul East, Jr.; grandchild, Kathleen Nicole Sanders; son-in-law, Rod Bramblett; and siblings, Gaynor Mitchell, Eleanor Shepard, Alicia Greene, Willanne Colley, Nevile Colley, Jim Arthur Colley, Jerome Colley, Beverly McClelland, and Larmie Colley.

Memorials may be floral.
