Kathleen St. George Obituary

Southbridge: Kathleen A. (Mortensen) St. George, 73, passed away on Sunday, August 3rd, in the UMass Memorial Healthcare Center, Memorial Campus, Worcester, after a long illness.

She leaves her husband of 44 years, Rev. Alan R. St. George; her son, Andrew St. George and his wife Gloria of Southbridge; her grandson, Elway St. George; her 4 brothers, James Mortensen of Charlton, Gerald Mortensen of Auburn, Edward Mortensen of Snoqualmie, WA and Eric Mortensen of Dunellen, FL; her 6 sisters, Nancy Peloquin of Brimfield, Susan Pratt of East Brookfield, Judith Donley of Elizabethton, TN, Laura Sullivan of Hilton Head Island, SC, Amy Barakian of West Boylston and Cheryl Cellucci of Hudson; and many nieces and nephews. She was born in Bridgeport, CT the daughter of the late Richard A. and Julia (Jepson) Mortensen.

Kathleen worked as a medical secretary at Worcester Memorial Hospital (now UMass Memorial) before becoming a full time Pastor's wife. She later worked parttime as a medical secretary, a bank teller and a day care provider.

Kathleen was an active member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Brimfield, serving her church as a Sunday School Teacher, volunteering with the Women's Ministry, coordinator of Operation Christmas Child and helping to run the Vacation Bible School. Kathleen also enjoyed doing crafts and scrapbooking.

A calling hour for Kathleen will be held on Friday, August 8th, from 6:00 to 7:00pm in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a prayer service to follow in the funeral home at 7:00pm. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 22nd, at 11:00am in the Faith Baptist Church, 515 Dennison Dr., Southbridge.
