Funeral services for Mrs. Kathryn "Katie" Allen Wallace Moseley, 89, of Henderson, will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, in the chapel at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home with Bro. Toby Tipps and Gene Gossett officiating. Interment will follow at Strong Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until service time on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Katie passed away July 20, 2025, at Hospice Homeplace in Tyler after a brief illness. She was born January 11, 1936, to Robert M. and Carol Allen. She was a charter member of Eastside Baptist Church. At 10 years old she worked on the Brush Arbor and was the only surviving charter member. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at the age of 12. She was named the first Miss Lake Forest Park in 1954. She also graduated from Henderson High School in 1954. Katie married her high school sweetheart, Curtis Junior Wallace, and they were married 36 years, until his death in 1990.
Katie was involved in many of her children's activities; Blue Birds, Camp Fire, Boy Scout leaders, and she also taught Sunday School for nearly 30 years. In addition, she established the first Juvenile Diabetes Foundation for North East Texas. She had been a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority since 1971. Katie worked at Blake Furniture for many years. She also served as hostess for Eastside Baptist Church and volunteered for the Hospice Shop in Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Carol Allen, husbands Curtis Junior Wallace and Charles Moseley, her sister Dorothy Gentry, brother Robert Allen, Jr, and her son Robert Michael Wallace.
Katie is survived by daughters, Sharon Harris and husband Paul David of Henderson, Susan Roper and husband Steve of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and Terri Thigpen and husband Al of Tyler; and sister, Janice Pirkey of Longview. She was known as "Kay Kay" to her 10 grandchildren, Shawn Harris of Henderson, Shane Harris of Kilgore, Josh Harris of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Kevin and Jared Roper of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Dr. Kelli Roper Davis of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Jennifer Kappel and Jessica DeZelle of Troup, and Chelsie Wallace Jordan and Colton Wallace of Henderson. She also had 14 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Moseley's grandsons and great-grandsons will honor her as pallbearers.
The family would also like to send a special thanks to Briarcliff Nursing Facility and Hospice of East Texas Tyler for their special care.
