Kathryn Goolsby, 76, of Brazoria, passed peacefully from this life into the arms of her loving Savior on June 13, 2025, with her beloved husband Kenneth and family by her side. After a long and courageous battle with dementia, she left this world surrounded by love.

Born August 13, 1948, in Wharton, Texas, to Jack and Phyllis Greenberg, Kathy was the heart of her family. She lived to give—selflessly offering her time, love, and prayers to her family, friends, and church community. A true prayer warrior, Kathy lifted those around her in constant prayer and leaned on her unwavering faith throughout all seasons of life.

Kathy was madly in love with her husband and endlessly devoted herself to her family. She poured her energy and heart into being the best wife, mom, and grandma anyone could hope for. Her greatest joy came from life’s simple moments, especially spoiling her grandchildren and making everyone around her feel deeply cherished.

She was a blessing to all who knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the many lives she touched. Kathy will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

Kathy graduated from Brazosport High School in 1966. She grew up in Lake Jackson and treasured the summers she spent in Brazoria with her grandparents, Beulah “Boo” and Charles Hendrix. She was a dedicated caregiver to her parents, grandparents, sister Debbie, and other family members, always giving her time and heart where it was most needed.

On February 28, 1976, she married Kenneth Goolsby, and together they shared 49 wonderful years of marriage. They were blessed with three children: Wade Aucoin and wife Kendra, Molly Rogers and husband Kevin, and Ken Goolsby. Kathy’s love grew with the arrival of her grandchildren: Alexandra Goolsby, Maci Zaragoza and husband Jose, Tori Aucoin, Savannah Goolsby, Kate Rogers, and Jack Rogers.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Phyllis and Jack Greenberg; grandparents, Beulah “Boo” and Charles Hendrix and Harriet and Ike Greenberg; grandson Aiden Reece Goolsby, sister, Debbie Rasco; brother, John Greenberg; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Goolsby, Harold Burrell, Thomas Goolsby, Robert Goolsby; and sister-in-law, Betty Burrell.

She is survived by her devoted husband, children, and grandchildren, as well as her sister-in-law Gail Greenberg Brown and husband Blyn; sisters Gail Rogers and husband Richard, Lisa Goolsby and husband Jason; brother-in-law Gil Rasco and wife Peggy; sisters-in-law Martha McCreary and Robin Goolsby; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

The family would like to thank Grandma Kathy’s nurses for the love and support they generously gave. A special thank you to Maria and Samantha, your love for Grandma was evident in the way you cared for her. She truly loved you like family, and the same kind of love is what she taught us to give. Your compassion and kindness meant so much to us during this time.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Tuesday June 17th from 6-8 pm at the C.T. Baker Funeral Home, 634 S. Columbia Dr. West Columbia. Another viewing will be held on Wednesday June 18th at 10am at The First Baptist Church of Brazoria. Funeral service will begin at 11am with Pastor Greg Smith and Pastor Peter Cammarano officiating. Interment to follow at Brazoria Cemetery.

Serving as Pallbearers are Charlie Greenberg, Chris Rogers, James McCreary, T. Ray Goolsby, Trey Goolsby, Rhett Goolsby. Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Russell, Brad Miksch, Larry Hadsock, Ryan Crew.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Kathryn’s memory to a charity dear to her heart, The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews https://help.ifcj.org/donate or a charity of your choice.
