Kathryn Overstreet, 68, of Floydada, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on June 15, 2025. Cremation services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX
Born on June 21, 1956, in Warren, Pennsylvania, Kathryn was the daughter of Ernest Arnold and Letha Marie (Brown) Smith. She spent her early years in Texas, attending elementary school in New Deal and graduated from high school in Abernathy.
On August 21, 2010, Kathryn married Charles Overstreet in San Angelo, Texas, and shortly after, they moved from Stamford to Floydada, where they built a life filled with love and companionship.
Kathryn was a gifted and passionate wildlife photographer, known for capturing the quiet beauty of nature. She enjoyed weekend road trips and found joy in exploring the world around her. Proud of her heritage, Kathryn carried both Cronk and Cherokee blood, which deeply influenced her identity and spirit.
She was a devoted member of Northside Baptist Church and a woman of strong faith. Most of all, Kathryn cherished her family. Her warmth, creativity, and caring heart touched everyone who knew her.
She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she enriched.
Kathryn is preceded in death by her father Ernest Smith, brother Jeffrey Smith, sister Tina Perkins, and Nephew Jesse Perkins.
She is survived by her husband Charles Overstreet of Floydada, mother Letha Smith of Abernathy, children Stephen Tull and Amber Tull both of Floydada, brother Robert Smith of Abernathy, 4 bonus children Amanda of Las Vegas, NV, Crystal of Denver, CO, Amber and Trent both of Lubbock, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
