Kathryn McCurry Toney, 87, of Golden Valley, entered eternal rest Saturday, June 21, 2025.
She was the daughter of the late Wilse and Jennie McCurry. Kathyrn was devoted to her family, always the caregiver. A longtime member of Fairview Baptist Church and the Golden Valley community, she loved both dearly. Her abscence will be felt by many.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny Toney; her son, Alan Toney and his wife Debbie of Granite Falls; her granddaughter, Michele Merold and her husband Bryce, of Raleigh; and a great granddaughter, Anderson Merold; a very special niece, Linda Justice, and several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be conducted at 10:00 am Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Fairview Baptist Church. Rev. David Ledford will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Raymond Gurley, Steve Justice, Clay Smith, Wayne Van Dyke, Harold Grayson, and Ron Gurley. Honorary pallbearers are Rick Chapman, Arthur Smith, David Yelton, Dale Ramsey, and Larry Gurley.
The Visitation will be from 4 pm until 6 pm Tuesday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Mountain Ministries, 404 Mason Road, Ellenboro, NC 28040 orSamaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607, or Ebenezer Christian Children's Home, 1006 Byrd Ridge Road, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
