A Funeral Service for Katherine "Kathy" Chamberlain will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in
Oxford, Nebraska, with Pastor Wes Holen and Pastor Kirk Einspahr officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Glenvil Cemetery, Glenvil, Nebraska.
Katherine LuElla (Rask) Chamberlain, 66 years of age, of Oxford, formerly of Glenvil Nebraska, passed away peacefully at her home with her family on September 5, 2025 after a brief illness. Kathy was born in Minden, Nebraska on August 17, 1959, the youngest of five children, born to Milton and Rosella (Wagnitz) Rask. She received her education from Oxford Public Schools and later completed her GED. She pursued higher education from Hastings Community College with a degree in Automotive Technology.
In April 1975, she was united in marriage to Scott Miller Sr, residing on the family farm with Jarvis & Maxine Miller. To this union, on January 19, 1976, they were blessed with a son, Scott Lee Miller Jr. and on August 9, 1977, Chad Allen Miller was born. Scott Sr and Kathy later divorced, but Kathy remained in Oxford for a few years.
Kathy married the true love of her life, Jerry Chamberlain on December 28, 1988, and welcomed a step daughter and step son, Tasha Miller and Mike Follett. The couple made their home in Glenvil, Nebraska where they raised emu for several years, and had a passion for camping. Kathy made her career after college as an auto parts professional. She made many friends and customers over the years, until just recently retired from her love of working for Scott Good at Auto Value in Hastings. Kathy is fondly remembered for her love of slo gin.
Kathy is survived by her son Scott Miller and wife Shawnna of Oxford, step daughter Tasha Miller and Tobey of Grand Island, Mike Follett of Columbus, Kathy's boyfriend George Thomas of Axtell; grandchildren: Logan (Kirsten), Kasey, and Garrett Miller, Jacob and Ethan Smith, and Ashlynn Follett; her brothers: Rick (LaRayne) Rask, and Bruce Rask; sisters-in-law and brothers in law: Ardyce (DeWayne) Kattenburg, Darrell (Mary) Chamberlain, Lori Paine, Roy (Deb) Chamberlain, and Janette Chamberlain. Many other nieces, nephews, family members, friends, and of course Rosie the dog.
Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her parents Milton and Rosella Rask, her son Chad Miller, a grandson Matthew Miller, her brother Dave Rask, a sister-in-law Elaine Rask, and an infant sister Rask.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Mitchell-Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Oxford.
A memorial has been established in Kathy's honor to the
American Cancer Society or
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
