Kathy Lynn Leivas, affectionately known by many as "Kak," was a beacon of compassion and love, unwaveringly reliable, and a pillar of support for everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Born on April 26, 1954, in San Antonio, Texas, and having spent her last years in the warm community of Henderson, Nevada, Kathy's life was a testament to the power of love and resilience. As Albert Schweitzer once said, "The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others." Kathy embodied this idea with every fiber of her being, touching many lives through her career in medical billing, her love for cooking and baking, and most importantly, her boundless love for her grandkids, Miles and Madison.
Kathy was an extraordinary woman who, despite her many accomplishments, remained humble and grounded. She lived a fulfilling life, with her recent retirement in 2021 marking the start of a new chapter where she enjoyed spending even more quality time with her beloved grandkids. Kathy was an amazing wife to Kenneth Leivas, a devoted daughter to her mother, Mattie Heaven, and an exceptional mother to her daughter, Kortney Trotta. Her radiant smile, infectious laughter, and unconditional love were the threads that bound her family together. As they navigate this world without her physical presence, they find solace in the fact that she now joins her father, George Heaven, in a place of eternal peace and serenity.
Kathy's life was a beautiful journey, filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. From her birthplace in San Antonio to her time in Simi Valley, California, and finally, her home in Henderson, she spread love and joy wherever she went. Her brother, George Jr., son-in-law, David Jr., and everyone who knew her, will miss her dearly, but her memory will forever live on in their hearts.
As we remember Kathy, we encourage everyone to share your memories and upload photos of her on the memorial page. Each shared memory, each photo, serves as a testament to the love she spread and the lives she touched. In this way, Kathy Leivas, our beloved "Kak," will continue to live among us, her spirit shining as brightly as ever.
