Chapel services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Crestwood Cemetery for Mrs. Kathy Lou Reed, age 71, of Rainbow City, who passed away on July 19, 2025. Reverend Mike Yates will officiate.

Kathy will be remembered for her warm, sparkly personality. Her life was full of happiness, and she truly loved everyone. She was always up for trying something new-even racing cars with (and against) her husband! She especially loved to travel, with Gatlinburg being one of her favorite destinations.

Above all, Kathy cherished her family. If she had one trademark, it was her heavy foot while driving-a detail that brought smiles to many. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Loyce and Annie Chestnut, sister Elizabeth, brother-in-law Bobby Geer, mother-in-law Mary Godfrey, and her beloved fur baby, sister.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Johnny Reid; niece Angela Geer; a host of nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Beloved fur baby Cookie.

A special thank-you to her nurse Morgan, the staff of Geneva Hospice, and our cherished friend Clara Mathis.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 p.m. until the time of service.
