Mrs. McCain passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025 in Clay County. She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County. Katie worked for over 25 years at Russell Mfg. After her retirement she worked for Walmart in the jewelry section for over six years, and also sat with helped take care of elderly people in need. She was a long time member at Sardis Baptist Church, loved going to Alabama football games, cooking and taking care of her little dog "Belle".
Mrs. McCain is survived by two sisters; Debra Jordan (Emil) of Cragford, and Polly Bachmann of Ashland, four brothers; Terry Crawford of Millerville, Jimmy Crawford (Lineville), Joe Crawford (Runa) of Cragford, and Roger Crawford (Vickie) of Wadley, sisters in law; Betty Shaddix of Ashland, Loretta Stewart of Newsite, Gail McCain of Ashland, Margie Crawford of Hackneyville, and Joyce Crawford of Ashland, brother in law; Harold McCain (Glenda) of Cragford.plus a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; J. Hubert Crawford and Annie Lucille Reaves Crawford, her husband; Dilford McCain, brothers; James and Robert Crawford, sister; Martha Frances Brand, nephews; Andy Jordan, Clay Crawford and Dale Crawford, nieces; Julie Thomas and Miranda Crawford.
Active pallbearers will be Chad Jordan, Wesley Jordan, Jeff Shaddix, Joey Crawford, Steven "Bo" Crawford, Cody Crawford, Bobby Gibson, and Harvey Brand.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Wheeles, Wayne Glenn her nephews and great nephews.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland on Sunday July 13, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. and until service time on Monday
