Sharon "Kay" Chance
Sharon "Kay" Chance, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 in Midland, TX. She was born on September 2, 1940 to Bud and Faye (Jackson) Malone. Kay married Joe "Chiefy" Chance on Jan 28, 1960 in Kermit and he preceded her in death in 2021 after 61 years of marriage.
Kay was an artist. She loved to garden and decorate her house. Kay was a member of the Wednesday Study Club in Kermit and was a wonderful hostess. Kay sent many years serving as an election official in Kermit. To those who knew her, Kay may best be remembered as a devoted dog mom to her two babies, Wilbur and Fred and dedicated Dallas Cowboy fan. She will be dearly missed.
Kay was preceded in death by her husband: Joe "Chiefy" Chance; father: Bud Malone; mother: Faye Sanders and husband Herb; sister: Linda Brewer; and brothers: Bill Malone, Johnny Malone, and Larry Malone.
She is survived by her son: Michael Chance and wife Kendall of Midland, TX; grandson: Cash Michael Chance of Midland, TX; and sister-in-law: Carolyn Malone of Raleigh-Durham, NC
A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, June 30, 2025 at Family Services Funeral Chapel, officiated by Dudley Mullins. A private burial will be held. Honorary Pallbearers will include: Steve Brown, Teddy Baremore, Dan Michel, Charles Blackwell, Jeff Brown and J.J. Hefner.
Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor and condolences may be sent to the family at www.fs-fp.com.
