Kelly J. Gum, age 59 of Walnut Hill, passed away at St. Louis University Hospital on June 18, 2025.
Kelly was born on March 19, 1966. He was a man who loved the simple joys of life-fishing on quiet mornings, riding 4-wheelers with friends and family, and sharing laughs with his brother Clyde, whom he dearly loved to visit. Kelly was known for his quick wit and was a jokester who could light up a room with his humor and charm.
Kelly Gum is survived by his brothers, John Nauert, Jr. of Walnut Hill, Donald K. Nauert of Morley, MO, Bruce Nauert of Walnut Hill, Kenneth Nauert and wife Heather of New Minden, IL, Jamie Daniels of Monmouth, IL, and Brian Daniels and wife Mary of Effingham, IL; his sisters, Susie Baker and husband Junior of Oak Ridge, MO, Patricia Mount of Texico, IL, Marcy Skinner and husband Charlie of Stuart, FL, Chris Smith and husband Brian of Hannibal, MO, Lisa Sigler of Farmer City, IL, and Marla Gum of Bloomington, IL; a sister-in-law, Christina Gum of Bement, IL; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Roger Gum, Sr. and Janice A. and John R. Nauert, Sr.; and a brother, Clyde Roger Gum, Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Kelly are suggested to the family and will be received through Zieren Funeral Home, PO Box 276, Carlyle, IL 62231.
