On Saturday, March 29, 2025, Kelvin Vincent Grey 72, born Feb. 27, 1953, entered eternal rest peacefully in his home in the presence of his family. Kelvin was born and raised in Newport News, Va. and graduated with honors from Huntington High School in 1971. He was an employee of Catalina Cylinders, Howmet, Pentran and he ended his career at Newport News Shipbuilding/Huntington Ingalls.
Kelvin is predeceased by his parents, James and Rosa Grey, his older brother James Grey Jr. and his best friend since 2nd grade Albert Johnson Sr.
He is survived by his daughter Keltina Grey, his grandson Rashad Ja'meer Watson, four siblings Kenneth Grey, Norma (Serita) Hill (Dennis), Sabrina Davis (Tony), Terry Grey (Latrice), a special niece whom he affectionately called his baby sister Tonya Grey, sister-in-law Sandra Grey (James Jr.), and a step-daughter Raynette Haile (Eric). He also leaves to cherish his memory his aunt Glynnis Jones, nieces and nephews, Tawanda Smith (Percy), Katrina Dowdell (Jacob), Jamel Grey, Omari Grey, Tramaine Grey (Natasha), Joni Harris (Steven), Terry Grey Jr, Cheryl Thomas, a very special friend Rhonda Harrison, three god-children Albert Johnson Jr., April Johnson, Alesia Johnson Sargent, and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews.
For all those that knew Kelvin, you know he loved music, he loved to dance, he loved his cars and he was a very hard dedicated worker. He was very strong willed and he fought this 6 year fight till the very end. We were so proud of him and he will truly be missed.
It is the desire of the Grey family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
The family of Mr. Kelvin Grey has entrusted his final care to C. C. Carter Funeral Home.
