Ken was born in Brooklyn, NY, and attended St. Mary's Grammar School and Mater Dei High School in New Monmouth, NJ. He later graduated from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, NY.
Ken spent most of his adult life in Leonardo, NJ, with his beloved wife, Patty, who passed away just 10 months ago. Her loss was profound, and Ken carried her memory with him every day.
Ken had a rare intellect. His mastery and infinite knowledge of literature, history, music, and baseball was unmatched, and he was often the one people turned to for insight, stories, and perspective. Ken's quick wit and sharp sense of humor made his presence unforgettable.
Ken was a talented musician. He played the piano, the guitar, and was a master on the harmonica. He had a secret love of drawing, which we all got to enjoy, was a cartoonist, a poet and a writer. His talents were infinite, and will be truly missed.
Ken was known by all who met him as a kind, loving, and gentle soul.
In his later years, Ken found healing, grace, and strength through his Catholic faith. A special thank you goes to Father Mark, of St. Mary's Church, for his guidance over the past year.
Ken is predeceased by his loving wife, Patty Quattrocchi, his parents, Maureen and Kenneth Johnson, and his brother, Keith Johnson.
Ken is deeply missed by his son, Kenneth Johnson, and his family in Florida; his sister, Kristina Williamson, of Atlantic Highlands, NJ; many loving nieces and nephews; and countless friends whose lives he touched.
A private Mass will be held in his memory.
