Kenneth Lee Miksis, age 76, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., passed away July 22, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Tuscaloosa, Ala. with Father Michael Deering officiating and Magnolia Chapel North directing. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Chicago, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor Miksis (Jane), and Marie Miksis; brother, Thomas Miksis; and wife, Ella Jean Miksis.

He is survived by his son, Jim Miksis (Jennifer); stepdaughter, Belinda Bigham Rozan (Wayne); stepsons, Glenn Bigham (Betty), and Gary Bigham (Donna); grandchildren, Lily Miksis, Greg Farley, Jr., Jennifer Lake (Jamie), Jason Farley (Lori), Chrissy Meyer (Rick), Wesley Bigham, and Wayne Bigham (Nicci); cousins, Gerri Waller, Micheal (Karen) Kraus, Terry Kary Schuermann, James Schuermann, Mary Ann Schuermann, and Janice Drabik.

Born on September 30, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of Victor J. Miksis and Marie Helen Miksis.

Ken was known for his kindness, work-ethic, humor, and faith. He spent his life serving. He served our country in the U. S. Army – 101st Airborne Division during Vietnam. He served 30 years as a police officer for the Tuscaloosa Police Department – Narcotics Division. After retirement, he went to work for the Northport Police Department – for 19 years up until his death.

He loved sports, fishing, hunting, metal detecting, cooking, and volunteering at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

His legacy of humility, humor, and dedication will live in everyone he touched.

Pallbearers will be Elden Willingham, Ted Butler, Ken Miller, Bill Hurter, Billy Duncan, and Wayne Robertson.

In lieu of flowers, make donations to Holy Spirit Catholic Church or Cancer Awareness.
