Mr. Kenneth Moore, 75, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, surrounded by family, following a brief illness.

A native and lifelong resident of Pitt County, Kenneth was born on November 30, 1949 to the late Frank and Blanie McLawhorn Moore. He was a graduate of J.H. Rose High School and had attended Pitt Community College. For more than 40 years, Kenneth enjoyed a successful career in sales. He worked for Carolina Dairies, Maola Dairy, Marva Maid and Carolina Ice Company. He was a veteran of the National Guard.
Kenneth will be fondly remembered for his strong love of family. His personality was larger than life and could fill a room with his stories, laughs and smiles. He was also known to be quite the jokester. Kenneth was a natural born salesman and he greatly enjoyed his work and his customers. He could engage with just about anyone and hold a meaningful conversation. He possessed an unconditional love for his family, friends and neighbors and will always be remembered for being a man of his word. His family will cherish the good advice given when needed and for teaching the kids and grandkids, especially his legacy of being prompt and being an extremely hard worker. The most significant legacy he leaves his family was becoming a child of God and being saved on June 30, 2025 when he was in the Intensive Care Unit at ECU Health Care Center.
Kenneth enjoyed going to country music shows, and mountain trips and fishing. His first love was fishing and especially at Ocracoke, He had nick-named himself "Flounder Man." He enjoyed traveling and was fortunate to have visited 9 different countries. An avid sports fan, Kenneth enjoyed following Nascar and Duke basketball, as he was a huge fan. Kenneth was an accomplished wood worker and used these skills to help build wheel chair ramps with the Shepherd's Helpers at Jarvis United Methodist Church. He also enjoyed building things for friends and family including anything from birdhouses to large furniture. In addition, he enjoyed watching Fox News and late-night snacking.
A loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Kenneth will be greatly missed by the many who knew and loved him.
