KIRK LARSEN Obituary

KIRK WILLIAM LARSEN Kirk William Larsen born at home July 4, 1944, to William Otto Larsen and Agnes Kenison in Bluebell, Utah, was the fifth child of six. He was raised in Bluebell, attended school in Bluebell starting at age four, and then Altamont, but graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the German Central Mission. He then enlisted in the Army and also attended OCS. Instead of going straight to Vietnam, he was stationed in Germany as an Army/Airforce Liaison for a couple years. Before going to Germany and while on leave he married Julie Irene Malmborg, on Tuesday August 29, 1967, in the Salt Lake City Temple. His first son, Shane Douglas, was born while they were in Germany. Upon his return from Vietnam, they settled in Bluebell and his oldest daughter, Michelle, was born. Kirk then completed his bachelor's degree and training at Weber State in Police Science. Then as an officer in Ogden the family lived in Roy, and two more sons joined, Scott William and Charles Kirk. He became a detective. In the spring of 1975 Kirk joined his brothers, Nolan and Aullen, in a dairy farm venture in Pleasant Valley. The family moved to Myton, and soon out to Pleasant Valley where two more daughters were added to the family, Jennifer Lee and Jessica. Kirk and Julie raised their children in the Pleasant Valley area most of the children's lives. Except for about two years when Kirk ran his own dairy on North Myton Bench, leasing the property and barn. Kirk's adult life and career pattern were filled with hard work and dedication to caring for his family. He worked in the oil fields, the creamery, construction, and two grocery stores in Roosevelt. He went back to school and became a teacher and administrator in DCSD. In the summers he worked with the County Mosquito Abatement. At his core, he was a farmer. He grew up harvesting hay with a team and a dump rake. He grew crops, milked and raised cows. He was well known for his pigs and would have people from all over the Uintah Basin reach out each year for his weaner pigs. Kirk had many talents and skills that were valued by him, his family, and others. He was a strong and loyal member of the Church of Jesus Christ all his life and held a firm testimony of its truths until the end. His favorite thing to read was church history books. He was very knowledgeable of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and he happily shared the Plan of Salvation with those who were ready to hear the message of a loving Father in Heaven. He was a very good singer and sang in many choirs and barbershop groups. In April, Kirk had a minor stroke and while it was determined no harm from the TIA, during the diagnosis they found he had a rare cancer called Cholangiocarcinoma. It was advanced in its stage and was inoperable. Kirk chose to fight it, but due to unforeseen complications, he and the cancer team decided that treatment was not a viable option in his current state. At this time, Kirk chose to go home and remain on Hospice for the last of his time on this Earth. Kirk succumbed peacefully on July 16, 2025, with family by his side. Kirk was preceded in death by his eternal sweetheart, Julie, son Shane Douglas, his parents, brothers Kendal and Aullen, and sister Twila. He is survived by his children: Shane's wife, Aurora Adiego Larsen; Michelle Fausett (Bryan), Scott William (Sarah), Charles Kirk (Laura), Jennifer Lee Allen (William), and Jessica Larsen, 13 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. As well as his brother Nolan and sister LaRee, and Julie's brothers LeRoy and Burl. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, in the Myton Ward Building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,75 E Main Street, Myton, where Kirk was a loyal member for over 50 years. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. for those wanting to pay their respects to Kirk and his family. A funeral program will be held at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel with internment in the Bluebell cemetery at 1:30 p.m., where Kirk will be laid to rest next to his sweetheart.
