Kristin Machelle Harper, age 52, of Minco, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday July 2, 2025. Kristin was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 1972, to her wonderful parents, John Brummett and Leah Casey. Kristin grew up in Mustang, Oklahoma. Kristin met her husband of 32 years, Chad Harper, at Mustang High School on the football field. He was a player, and she was a water girl. They started their relationship on the sideline where Chad was injured, and she attended to him. They have never been apart. Chad and Kristin married December 18, 1993, and raised three children, Dakota 28, Ezra 27, and Haden 24. They have been blessed with two granddaughters, Rosalie Harper and Brinlee Harper, both 1 year old, and two grandbabies expected in the coming months. Kristin graduated from Mustang High School in 1991. She graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in English Education in 2007, and she came back to her hometown to fulfill a calling to teach English at Mustang Middle School and Mustang High School from 2007 until her medical retirement in 2022. Kristin is known for her brilliant independent personality and her quick wit that was sharp, direct, a little edgy, definitely sassy, yet always seasoned with humor and an infectious smile that radiated her inner spirit of love and joy. Her students, colleagues, children, and husband were all the beneficiaries of hours of laughter driven by her love for humorously and lovingly telling stories, joking, or telling you like it is. She shared her spirit of wit, love, and wisdom often while hosting every holiday, birthday, and special event. Hosting not only allowed her to share her spirit, but it also allowed her to share her love of cooking with the people she loved. She insisted on cooking every favorite dish ever mentioned by a loved one and travel snacks for every one of the countless road trips she took with her family. Kristin also loved giving the gift of knowledge to her students. She knew each of her students individually, which allowed her to season each lesson with her colorful personality to make her class meaningful. Her students and family loved her. Kristin's ability to give special gifts of wit, knowledge, food, love, and laughter are a true reflection of her personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Giving to the Lord was non-negotiable. Kristin built orphanages, churches, and schools for the children of India. She bought motorcycles for missionaries. She gave supplies for the poor. She spent time serving at Chisholm Heights Baptist Church. Simply put, Kristin gave, and gave, and gave. She was beautiful in every way. Kristin is preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Ila Gooszen, Patricia Brummett, and several uncles and aunts. She is survived by husband Chad; sons Dakota (Macey), Ezra (Rachel), and Haden (Hannah) Harper; two granddaughters Rosalie and Brinlee; mother Leah Casey (Mike), father John Brummett (Sandy), aunts Patty Nance and Bobbie Lau; and a number of cousins.

Services will be at Chisholm Heights Baptist Church in Mustang, Oklahoma, on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 10:00AM. There will be a brief reception afterwards followed by a graveside service at Mustang Cemetery.

John, Chad and Boys, it is with great sadness that we send you this message in remembrance of Kristin. We will forever remember her smile and the way she would light up a room. She would not want us to be sad for she is healed and whole and with our father. May you be blessed by her memories and know that she loves you and is so proud of each of you. Much love to you and your family.

I can see Kristin sitting in my senior English class. She was always friendly, fun, intelligent, and beautiful. From what I have read, she never changed. I am so sorry.
