Kyle M. Werner, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away at the tender age of 39 on June 29, 2025, at Northwestern/Valley West Hospital in Sandwich, Illinois. He was born on December 11, 1985, in Aurora, Illinois, to Michael and Lori (Locke) Werner and throughout his life, he touched the hearts of many with his kindness, warmth, and vibrant spirit.
Kyle dedicated over twenty years of his life working at the Fox Metro Water Reclamation District, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues. His commitment to his career was only matched by his enthusiasm for the great outdoors. Whether it was hunting, golfing, or enjoying motor sports, Kyle embraced every opportunity to explore the beauty of nature. His passion for the farm industry and love for boating brought him immense joy and created countless cherished memories with family and friends.
At the heart of Kyle's life were his relationships with his loved ones. He is survived by his father, Michael Werner, who will carry his memory closely; his sister, Hannah Werner, with whom he shared a special bond; and his grandmother, Elsie Locke, whose love and support shaped him. Kyle is also remembered fondly by his aunts, Patricia Werner and Lisa (Scott) Felker, and uncles, Joe Locke and Jim Locke, each of whom held a significant place in his heart.
Kyle’s proudest accomplishments were not measured by accolades but by the moments he spent with the people he cared for. He truly loved being surrounded by friends and family, creating a legacy of joy and laughter that will echo in their hearts forever.
Kyle was preceded in death by his mother, Lori, whose absence has left a profound space in the lives of those who loved her. He also mourns the loss of his uncle, William "Bill" Werner, and his grandparents, Francis and Helen Werner, and Robert Locke. Their memories will forever continue to guide him.
A Celebration of Life is set to be held on July 7, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, Illinois.
