LaMar Bischoff, a beloved member of the community, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, at the age of 85, after a brave battle with a lingering illness. Born on March 22, 1940, in St. Anthony, Idaho, LaMar dedicated his life to service, family, and his deep passion for beekeeping.

LaMar enjoyed an accomplished career of 18 years processing checks for First Security Bank, but it was his lifelong hobby of beekeeping that truly defined him. Beginning with just two hives, LaMar's love for bees blossomed into a significant endeavor that expanded to over 1,500 hives at one time. Committed to his craft until the end, he maintained 12 hives, embodying the spirit of a true apiarist, often saying that you couldn't take the man out of the bees.

LaMar served honorably in the National Guard, where he had the unique responsibility of driving the jeep for the General of his unit. His duties came to an unexpected halt when he was unable to pass a vision test for color blindness, yet his dedication to service remained unwavering.

Family brought LaMar immense joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His wife, Theda, his children Mike, Todd, Scot (Mary), Dean (Denise), Garr (Brooke), Gina, Benn (Fay), Judy (David) Chugg, and Sara, exemplified the love and connection LaMar valued deeply. In addition to his children, LaMar proudly leaves behind 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, each of whom holds a piece of his legacy in their hearts.

LaMar created countless memories playing games with his family, including Yahtzee, card games, basketball, soccer, volleyball, horseshoes, and "steal the rag." He delighted in gathering for evening meals, often hosting Weiner roasts that became cherished traditions. His home was a place filled with laughter, camaraderie, and the spirit of competition.

In addition to his love for family, LaMar found a connection with nature, particularly through his affection for birds. He dedicated part of his life to nurturing a variety of animals, including Canadian geese, peacocks, squirrels, yaks, llamas, and ducks. His dream of establishing a hatchery was a testament to his appreciation for wildlife.

LaMar was not only a devoted family man but also a good neighbor. He had a special bond with Ben Fehringer, known for his thoughtful gestures, such as providing gas when needed and assisting in various home projects, including the installation of sidewalks and driveways.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Lora, along with his brothers and two sisters. LaMar's legacy is one of kindness, love, and dedication, a man who cherished his family, his passions, and his community.

Visitation will be held on July 14, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at Davis-Rose Funeral Home in American Falls, ID. A funeral service will follow at10:00 AM. LaMar Bischoff will be remembered fondly by all who knew him, leaving a lasting impact on family and friends alike.
