Funeral services for Larry Jordan, 71, of Lufkin, will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Ty Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Lufkin.
Mr. Jordan was born on January 11, 1954, in Houston, Texas, to the late Lonnie Jordan and Mary (Pate) Jordan, and died Thursday, March 6, 2025, in Lufkin.
Mr. Jordan was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was involved in the N.W.T.F. serving as chairman for 8 years. Mr. Jordan also served as president of the Carmona Hunting and Fishing Club. He was a talented carpenter, jack of all trades, and could do just about anything. Mr. Jordan loved to travel, especially to Estes Park Colorado. He traveled all over the country to watch his grandchildren play sports. Mr. Jordan had a heart to help people. Anytime there was a tragedy or disaster, he coordinated and volunteered to help. Mr. Jordan could always tell you how the weather was, especially where his grandchildren were at.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Jordan of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Justin Vasquez of Austin, TX; son, James Vincent Carroll II of Guatemala; daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Gabe Reed of Lufkin; daughter, Delaney Harbuck of Austin, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Kristine and Calen Rhome of Wheat Ridge, CO; son and daughter-in-law, Seth and Kelsey Jordan of Montgomery, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Caitlin and Ryan Johnson of Nixa, MO; daughter, Corban Jordan of Lufkin; grandchildren, Delaney Cellitti, Brittany Lee, Hayden Johnson, Storm Johnson, Lincoln Johnson, Zion Johnson, Atticus Johnson, Spencer Harbuck, Zoey Harbuck, Nash Jordan, Emma Jordan, Zealey Rhome, Malaia Reed, Kieren Reed, Aviah Reed, Channah Reed, Isaac Reed, Zebulon Reed, and Sarah Belle Reed; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Gaile Jordan of Pulaski, TN; sister, Diane Smith of Diboll, TX; brother, Jerry Jordan of Lufkin; sister, Barbara Jean and Allbritton and husband of Covington, LA; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenny Jordan, Donnie Jordan, and Lonnie Jordan, Jr.; and sisters, Jo Harrison and Belle Grambo.
Pallbearers will be Seth Jordan, Ryan Johnson, Jeremy Jordan, Mike Malcolm, Brian Schwark, Bobby Guthery, Tyler Sullivan, and Calen Rhome.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Morgan, Ron Stubblefield, David Root, Storm Johnson, and Friends of the Carmona Hunting and Fishing Club.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Shafer Funeral Home.
