Larry Quinn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home & Crematory - Bogalusa on Feb. 12, 2026.
Larry Wayne Quinn, age 81, of Bogalusa, Louisiana, was born on October 17, 1944, and passed away peacefully at his residence on February 11, 2026, surrounded by his family. Larry devoted many years of service to the powerhouse at the Bogalusa Mill and was well known in his community for his skill and reliability as a locksmith, a profession through which he met and assisted countless friends and neighbors. He was a proud Mason and a faithful, longtime member of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church.

Affectionately known as "Teddy Bear" and "Pop," Larry was cherished for his warm spirit and generous heart. He found joy in life's simple pleasures, enjoying time with his granddaughters, gardening, and especially spending time in the kitchen perfecting his beloved cornbread recipe, which became a favorite among family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Stewart Quinn; his daughter, Dana Quinn Burton; and his granddaughters, Kayla Burton (Ali Saremi) and Abby Burton. He also leaves behind his sisters, Louise Broussard, Elaine Spurlock (Richard), Annette Quinn, and Jo Ann Mitchell (Ken); his brothers, James Quinn (Shirley), Wallace Quinn, and Albert Terry Quinn (Debra); his sister-in-law, Sandy Stewart Hebert (Will); his brothers-in-law, Gary Stewart, Bruce Stewart, and Kenneth Stewart; numerous nieces and nephews; and two cherished grand-pups, Mylo and Henry.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, James Quinn and Beatrice Wallace Quinn; his sister, Alice Quinn; his sisters-in-law, Judy Quinn, Susan Stewart, and Lorinda Stewart; his brothers-in-law, Ardell Broussard, Ronald Stewart, and Paul Stewart; and his nephews, Michael Spurlock and Ardell (Dale) Broussard.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Jack Saux and the staff of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center for the exceptional care and support provided over the past five years. They are also deeply grateful to Southeast Home Health and Modern Hospice, with special thanks to Jenny Stewart, RN, and Juliette Magee, CNA, for their unwavering love, compassion, and devoted care.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home. Reverend Marcus Rosa will officiate, and interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens. Larry will be remembered for his kindness, steady presence, and the many lives he touched throughout his years.
