On July 1, 2025, we said our earthly goodbyes to a witty and loving man, Larry Seibel. Born on March 1, 1953, in Davenport, Iowa, Larry was known for his quick wit and sarcastic humor, keeping everyone around him on their toes. He had an adventurous spirit, which was evident in his love for road trips and the joy he derived from driving. Larry was an ardent sports fan, and his enthusiasm was contagious. He was a proud graduate of West High School in Davenport and later Utah State University. His career took him to an Insurance Call Center, where he served diligently until his retirement. Larry's dedication and commitment were not only reflected in his work but also in his 25-year membership with Clearfield Parks and Rec.
Larry, affectionately known as 'Papa's taxi service' and 'the candy man' to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was a man whose heart was firmly anchored in the love for his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Gaylene London Seibel, whom he married on November 1, 1974. Their union blessed them with beautiful children and an expanding circle of love with nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Larry's love for his family was a reflection of his faith. A faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in various callings and fulfilled a mission in Phoenix, Arizona. His life and actions were a testament to his belief in the verse, "Charity never faileth" (Moroni 7:46).
Larry is survived by his wife, Gaylene Seibel; daughters, Tiffany Seibel and Tanya (Kevin) Fowers; brothers, Gary (Kathy) Seibel and Bryan (Robin) Seibel. He continues to be a cherished grandfather to Ashlea, Morgan, McKenna, Tylee, Cambree, Abigail, Vincent, Quincey, and Zachary, and a doting great-grandfather to Tonia and Blake. He was preceded in death by his sons, Larry Jr. and Cecil Jack Raymond; his parents, Cecil Seibel and Margaret Long; and his siblings, Barbara Cutkomp and Bruce Seibel.
Larry's memory will forever be etched in our hearts, his wit and sarcasm will echo in our laughter, and his love will continue to bind us together. As we celebrate Larry's life, we invite all who knew him to share their memories and upload photos to his memorial page. Let us remember, cherish, and celebrate the wonderful, loving, and adventurous soul that was Larry Seibel.
We would like to extend our deepest thanks to the University of Utah Burn Unit for the
incredible care and compassion they showed Larry. Your kindness will never be
forgotten.
